1. Products:
Biogas is produced from spent wash which is wastewater discharged from distillery fermentation/ distillation process. Biogas is extracted through the process of anaerobic decomposition and purified for domestic consumption through co2 membrane, h2s scrubber & compression processes. Compressed Biogas (CBG) has calorific value and other properties like Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and hence can be utilized as green renewable automotive fuel. Thus, it can replace CNG in automotive, industrial, and commercial areas. Raw biogas can also be captively used in the existing distillery as fuel for boiler. Solid residues after the decomposition / bio methanation process can also be converted in Phosphate Rich Organic Manure (Bio Compost). Bio Compost can be produced through mixing of solid waste with press-mud and liquid spent wash.
2. Production Process:
The extracted through the process of anaerobic decomposition consists of various gases such as Methane, Carbon di Oxide, Hydrogen Sulphide (in minor quantities) and moisture in vapour form. The generated gas is scrubbed with water scrubbing system to remove the CO2 and contain around 96-98% pure methane and the rest CO2.
